Karangura Wilderness Camping 3 Days Night
Day one: Nyabuswa-karangura
The hike takes 8-9 hours from Nyabuswa and ends at mpanga River camp. Karangura Peak is 3,012m ABS with beautiful views at the summit. The hike to the summit leads uphill through bakonzo homes, coffee & banana plantations and rainforest. The area is rich in primates such as the black and white Colobus monkeys or blue monkey. Getting to karangura gives you a view of DRC and beautiful view of the Ruwenzori.
The Hike starts at 7:30 am at our offices in kazingo. Our cooks will make and provide you with packed lunch before the start of the hike. Our today’s overnight camp ground is near the source of River Mpanga where we shall spend the night in tents.
Day two: nature walk in the rwenzori
After a hearty breakfast, you head for a 3 hours nature walk in the tropical rain forest. you will view lots of birds such as Rwenzori Turraco,Barred long –tailed Cuckoo, Long –eared Owl, Handsome Francolin, Cinnamon chested bee- eater, Archers Robin Chat, White starred Robin, Rwenzori Batis, Montane sooty Boubou, Lagden’s Bush Shirike, Slender-billed starling, Blue-headed sunbird, Golden winged sunbird, Strange weaver,kivu ground thrush, Rwenzori Night jar, strip-breast Tit, red faced woodland warbler, white collared olive-back, olive woodpecker, oriole-finch, dwarf honey guide, evergreen forest and bamboo warbler etc and lots of monkeys. Night as above.
Day three: Bwamba pass trail- Bundibugyo
Early wake up & breakfast at the camp will be at 7:30 am. Our cook will provide you with picnic lunch before you embark on the trek with our experienced Guide. The trek takes you through the bwamba pass to bundibugyo town. You will trek through this traditional bwamba pass to immerse yourself with the fascinating flora, Fauna and views. The trek leads you through the tropical rain forest and bamboo with superb rift valley view’s & the isolated bankozo and bamba homes.
Price is inclusive of community fee, park entry, trek guide,1 porter for each client carrying 12kg,cook,meals, camping Equipments, activities mentioned and water only.
